Hello all and here is today's featured meditation. This mini meditation is for the collectors of snow globes out there. I used to collect snow globes when I was younger and that's my inspiration for this one today. Not really much more to say about this meditation, so please enjoy!!
The idea with this meditation is to imagine that the intruding thoughts and emotions cause the snow globe to shake, making the snow swirl every where. In order to calm the snow, you must calm your thoughts and emotions. Some imaginative elements: What does your snow globe look like? What does the snow look like? What is in the snow globe with you? What do you see outside the globe when the snow is calm? I hope you enjoy this mini meditation. Please comment below what imaginative elements you added to the meditation. Also, let me know if there's anything you would like for a mini meditation. You guys are awesome!!

Hello all and here is today's featured meditation. This meditation is inspired by all the times I have sat at a campfire, staring at the flames, and getting lost in the depths of the embers. Fire can be very soothing for some people and that is why I have written this meditation.
The idea with this meditation is to imagine the intruding thoughts and emotions as fuel for the fire. You must feed the flames with what ever is concerning you at the moment. Some imaginative elements: What are your surroundings like? What time of day is it? Is your fire surrounded by rocks or in a fire pit? How big does your fire get? I hope you enjoy this mini meditation. Please comment below what imaginative elements you added to the meditation. Also, let me know if there's anything you would like for a mini meditation. Today, I'm going to talk a little bit about my mini meditations and what I hope people will get from them. With all my minis, I talk about intruding thoughts and emotions. I initially called these negative thoughts and emotions, but decided to change that. I felt like calling them negatives was indicating that we can never feel or think about negative things. And this is not a message that I want people to get. We all are going to experience the negatives and that is fine in moderation. They can help to make us stronger, help us learn to survive, or to help us learn something. Without the negatives, we can't enjoy and appreciate the positives as much as we do. So, I call the thoughts and emotions that you may not want to be having at a moment, intruding. With how I introduce my minis, the intruding thoughts and emotions are causing people to not be able to concentrate on what they are doing. People end up focusing on the intruders causing them to not focus on work, school, events, and anything else that may require their attention. When this happens, we may not get the chance to do an hour long meditation, sometimes not even a ten minute one. But the point of the minis is to give people something that they can do in a few minutes to help them refocus. With my meditations, I also like to try and elicit other emotions besides the usual. It's cool to want to feel calm, happy, and relaxed. But what about excited, playful, and nostalgic? There are many different emotions that are positive that can be felt while doing a meditation. Some of mine are meant to elicit certain emotions and some will elicit emotions that I may not have intended. My main goal is for people to feel some sort of positive emotion instead of an intruding one. Lastly, I do write my meditations with enough detail to give people something to imagine. After that initial detail, I hope and encourage people to add their own details to the mediation. That is why you see in the description boxes and the blog a section called Some Imaginative Elements. These are some questions that can help you to add more detail to the meditation to focus on and to make that meditation unique to yourself. So this was a little insight into my mini meditations. I hope you all find a mediation that you enjoy. Just remember that you all are awesome. Have a great day and bye!!
This mini meditation was written with the idea that people do like pop things, balloons being one of the things people probably pop most (zits not included in this). The idea behind this meditation is to put all of your intruding thoughts and emotions into the balloon and then pop it.
Some imaginative elements: What does the balloon look like? How fast does the balloon fill up? What are you using to pop the balloon? What happens to the balloon after it pops? I hope you enjoy this mini meditation. Please comment below what imaginative elements you added to the meditation. Also, let me know if there's anything you would like for a mini meditation. Hello all and here is today's featured meditation. With this meditation, I took inspiration from a couple of different areas. My first inspiration is my mother. I remember when I was younger and my family went camping and hiking a lot, my mother would sometimes play Pooh Sticks (my other inspiration) with me. Now, if you have never seen Winnie the Pooh, Pooh Sticks is a game played on a bridge with sticks and a river or creek. You and your friends/family stand on one side of the bridge with you stick. You drop the stick into the river and head over to the other side. Whichever stick comes out on the other side first, wins!!
The idea with this meditation is to imagine the intruding thoughts as sticks and treat them like Pooh Sticks. When the stick emerges from the other side of the bridge, that thought or emotion becomes a positive one. Some imaginative elements: What kind of day is it? What kind of bridge are you on? How big is the creek or river? What does the sticks look like? What does the creek or river look like? What else is around you? I hope you enjoy this mini meditation. Please comment below what imaginative elements you added to the meditation. Also, let me know if there's anything you would like for a mini meditation. You guys are awesome!!
This mini meditation was written along the same lines as the Breaking Through meditation. With this one though, my inspiration comes from some of the places where you get to just smash plates. I have never tried this before, but find the concept to be very interesting and could see it being therapeutic, in a weird way. The idea behind this one is that each stress or frustration represents a plate in your mind and you now how the chance to smash it.
Some imaginative elements: How big is the room you are in? What does the room look like? What do the plates look like? What do the balls look like? How do the plates break apart? I hope you enjoy this mini meditation. Please comment below what imaginative elements you added to the meditation. Also, let me know if there's anything you would like for a mini meditation. Hello all and here is today's featured meditation. This mini meditation was the first one I wrote. I created it one the spot for an individual I was working with. They were very upset while they were at work and I needed something that would help to calm them down as fast as possible. After seeing how helpful this was for my person, I decided to come up with some more minis.
The idea with this meditation is to imagine the intruding thoughts as dark clouds that will be melted away with positive thoughts in the form of sunshine. Some imaginative elements: Think about what the clouds look like. Are you standing or sitting? Is there a cold wind when the clouds are filling your mind? How warm does it get when the sun is fully out? What does the sunlight look like? I hope you enjoy this mini meditation. Please comment below what imaginative elements you added to the meditation. Also, let me know if there's anything you would like for a mini meditation. You guys are awesome!!
It's that day again!! Featured meditation time!! Sometimes I feel like I'm trying to work my way through a maze when I'm really stressed out. When I have these moments, I just feel like busting through the maze so I can stop feeling stressed. That's the inspiration behind this meditation.
The idea behind this meditation is to imagine your stress or frustration as walls of glass that you just bust through. If you are the type of person who feels like the way I do sometimes, then this will be a great meditation for you. Some imaginative elements: What does the glass look like? How many glass walls do you break through? Are you outside or in? What does the baseball bat look like? How heavy is the baseball bat? I hope you enjoy this mini meditation. Please comment below what imaginative elements you added to the meditation. Also, let me know if there's anything you would like for a mini meditation. You guys are awesome!!
Hello all and here is today's featured meditation. This meditation is one of the newest that I have written and have decided to release sooner. I will warn you all that this meditation is not suited for work nor is it suited for anyone who is offended easily by profanity. Sometimes we can be so overwhelmed by our thoughts and emotions that we struggle to use our coping skills. What I have found when this happens, is that I need a shock to my system that will cause me to focus on what that shock is long enough to be able to use my usual skills. This can be done in a variety of ways. I'm not a fan of sour, spicy, or bitter foods so eating one of these types of foods can be helpful. I almost can't help but focus on how the food tastes. Listening to loud music that has a strong, fast beat can be helpful. When I play it loud (of course not loud enough to disturb someone), I find that the music can make it hard to focus on the thoughts running through my head. Power walking through the park, while may look a little scary to others, has helped me out a few times as well. And lastly, I will sometimes get "mad" at myself for letting the feelings get to be too much. I'll use swear words and tell myself to just stop. It's weird to me that this works and when it does, I oddly feel better and am no longer mad at myself. This is what this meditation is about. It's to send a shock to your system to get you to focus on something else. I also wanted to write a meditation that was just way different from any other meditation that I have seen. This meditation does have profanity in it and words that I have said to myself before. Again, please do not listen to the meditation if you are offended by profanity. Otherwise, please enjoy it and try not to take it too seriously. I hope you enjoy this mini meditation. Please comment below what imaginative elements you added to the meditation. Also, let me know if there's anything you would like for a mini meditation. You guys are awesome!! If this is the first post you are seeing regarding tips to meditation, you might want to back up some and check out my other posts about discovering meditation, beginning meditation, and during meditation. I will admit that I don't always follow my own advice once I have completed a meditation, but these are some good tips of what you can do. These tips do apply to a lot of different meditations, not just the ones I have written. First and foremost, be thankful for the meditation. Show your appreciation for being able to take a break and thank yourself for being able to take care of you. This can help you to feel even better. Revisit a meditation. Sometimes our minds are like beehives and doing one meditation doesn’t always quiet all the bees. If you need to, continue to do meditations throughout the day. Practice meditations. When you are first starting out with meditations, you may struggle with the thoughts that pop into your head. You may struggle to quiet the thoughts in your head if you are really stressed out. Practicing meditations when you are feeling good can help you get better at it and get the most out of the meditations. Try different types of meditations. You may find that guided imagery is just not your thing. There are many different types out there that you may find more helpful. Do some research, try different ones out, join classes to see which ones may be more useful to you. I think everyone can benefit from meditation and that they can find one that works for them. If you would like to try guided imagery meditation, check the next couple of posts out during the next couple of weeks. I will be sharing one of my meditations along with talking about my go to meditation. |
