Hello all and here is today's featured meditation. With this meditation, I took inspiration from a couple of different areas. My first inspiration is my mother. I remember when I was younger and my family went camping and hiking a lot, my mother would sometimes play Pooh Sticks (my other inspiration) with me. Now, if you have never seen Winnie the Pooh, Pooh Sticks is a game played on a bridge with sticks and a river or creek. You and your friends/family stand on one side of the bridge with you stick. You drop the stick into the river and head over to the other side. Whichever stick comes out on the other side first, wins!!
The idea with this meditation is to imagine the intruding thoughts as sticks and treat them like Pooh Sticks. When the stick emerges from the other side of the bridge, that thought or emotion becomes a positive one. Some imaginative elements: What kind of day is it? What kind of bridge are you on? How big is the creek or river? What does the sticks look like? What does the creek or river look like? What else is around you? I hope you enjoy this mini meditation.
